Joedy_Tamarind Fish Sauce Wings

Ingredients

  • 23 chicken wings
  • 1/2 tsp of fish sauce
  • 1/2 tsp of Knorr Tamarind Soup Mix
  • 1/2 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp of onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp of ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of MSG
  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 3 tsps of fish sauce
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • 1 tsp of Knorr Tamarind Soup Mix
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tsp of onion powder
  • 1 tsp of MSG
  • 1/2 tsp of ground pepper
  • 1.5 tsps of cooking oil (any kind)
  • 3 tsps of chopped fresh garlic
  • 1/4 cup of chopped green onion
  • 1/2 tsp of dried red chili flakes
  • sweet pepper (optional)

Tamarind Chicken Wings

A great hack for making Vietnamese tamarind fish sauce wings with Knorr tamarind soup mix. Sweet and savory with the right amount of sourness. All in one perfect bite.

Preparation

  1. Put all the chicken wings and indgredients into a ziplock bag, mix well and leave it for 30 minutes or more.

  2. In a saucepan on medium. Add garlic and chili flakes. Wait until garlic get a little golden. Add in the fish sauce mixture. Let it cook until slightly thickened up. The thicker the sauce the saltier it will get so be careful. Taste, adjust and turn stove off. Add in green onions and sweet pepper.

  3. Preheat fryer to 400f. Fry for 5 minutes and give it a stir. This will help wings from sticking to each other or the basket. Drop baskets back in and continue to fry for another 15-20 minutes. Depending on how big or small the wings are.

  4. If you’re going to serve all the wings at the same time. Then toss it with all the sauce. If not, you can just do a small portion at a time and keep the rest of the wings crunchy until ready to serve.
